Company Name: Code Industries
Location: Johar Town (Onsite)
Position: Mid-Senior Python / AI-ML Engineer
Job Description:
You own the server side of a consumer mobile product: the API, the data pipeline behind it, and the recommendation engine that decides what users see. One Flutter engineer owns the app. You own everything else. The ML doesn't sit in a notebook for someone else to productionise — you build the pipeline and the endpoint that serves it, in the same codebase.
What you'll work on
- Turning a large, messy third-party content corpus into structured, queryable data — normalisation, deduplication, extracting structure from free text at scale.
- Classification and tagging across that corpus, using LLMs, classifiers or rules depending on what the problem needs.
- Search and retrieval: full-text and structured indexing plus embeddings, sub-200ms candidate generation.
- A ranking layer — rules-based first, since there's no behavioural data at launch, then a learned ranker once there is.
- The product API: auth, user models, batch jobs, third-party integrations, subscription receipt validation, and an event pipeline feeding a warehouse.
What we're looking for
•
2+ years production Python, with Django or FastAPI in real use.
- A data pipeline you've shipped over millions of records where the input was inconsistent and it still had to work.
- Practical NLP or information extraction — and the judgement to know when an LLM is right, when a classifier is cheaper, and when a lookup table beats both.
- Embeddings and vector search as working tools.
- Postgres you can reason about; AWS or GCP, containers, CI/CD.
How you work
You'll be the only server-side engineer for the first stretch. You sequence your own work, say what you're deprioritising, and write decisions down — the ones you make in month two get questioned in month eight.
