Greetings
My Name is Mustafa and I am a HCPC registered Diagnostic Radiographer.
I am currently working as a Medical Imaging Technologist at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital is a JCI certified international hospital in Pakistan, It is one of the only three hospitals to receive JCI accreditation in Pakistan. We have a state-of-the-art bustling Radiology department equipped with:
- A 3 Tesla MRI by Siemens.
- A 1.5 Tesla MRI by Philips
- A 160 slice CT scanner by cannon
- A 16 Slice CT scanner by cannon
- Two DR Xrays by Siemens
- DSA
I work 51 hours/week with a 8.5 hour daily shift which is rotated on a monthly basis. We have a rota system. I have also performed my duties on Sundays and gazette holidays. Our radiology department is open 24/7 and caters to the needs of 500-700 patients daily. We have cancer patients coming from the hospital wards and walk-in patients. The hospital also has three ER departments and we have also have patients referred from the ER.
I have expertise in all aspects of X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures. I am an efficient user of PACS as well as HIMS as we use it for our orders and acknowledgment. I possess extensive experience in performing a wide range of X-ray and fluoroscopy procedures.
Over the course of my career, I have acquired proficiency in various diagnostic imaging techniques and equipment.
- Conventional X-rays: I am skilled in capturing standard X-ray images of various body parts, such as the chest, limbs, spine, and abdomen. I can adjust imaging parameters to obtain high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Fluoroscopic Contrast Studies: I have conducted numerous contrast studies, including barium studies of the GIT and Urological studies. Also, I have performed ERCP procedures and stent placement, or removal studies. I believe I am highly experienced in using fluoroscopy for real-time imaging during procedures as I understand the importance of precise image capture to aid physicians in making accurate diagnoses.
- Portable X-rays: I am proficient in performing bedside or mobile X-rays for patients who cannot be transported to the radiology department, such as those in intensive care units or surgical wards.
- I have also performed the duty of C-arm operator in the operation theatre.
