About

Engineering and operations professional with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Engineering Management & Project Management, and two years of hands-on delivery experience running three concurrent infrastructure projects. Drives productivity, quality and cost optimisation, manages end-to-end project execution through installation, commissioning and customer acceptance, coordinates procurement, materials and outsourced delivery partners, and maintains quality and HSE compliance. Delivered a 15 per cent reduction in operating costs, coordinated around 20 personnel plus subcontractors, and maintained a zero lost-time-injury record.

Experience

Project Engineer, site-based at RS Infra (2021-09 – 2023-07)

  • Ran daily operations across three concurrent projects, setting priorities, allocating work and monitoring output against targets.
  • Tracked productivity and performance against planned resourcing and used the results to change how work was sequenced and crewed.
  • Delivered a 15 per cent reduction in overall project costs through cost optimisation, removing double-handling and idle time without reducing scope or quality.
  • Led end-to-end execution of infrastructure works from early works through construction, installation, testing, commissioning and customer acceptance.
  • Delivered a municipal utilities asset integrating civil, structural, mechanical, pumping and pipeline systems, and handed it over complete to its public owner.
  • Maintained programmes and two-week look-aheads in Microsoft Project, tracking against baseline and critical-path activities to protect delivery dates.
  • Qualified and managed subcontractors and suppliers, defining scope, evaluating submissions on technical grounds and monitoring deliverables against agreed obligations.
  • Held partners to quality standards and performance expectations, giving direct feedback and addressing shortfalls rather than letting them accumulate.
  • Managed procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages and coordinated deliveries against the programme.
  • Balanced material availability against holding cost, scheduling supply so work fronts were served without carrying excess on site.
  • Built and ran quality systems including inspection and test plans, hold points, registers and non-conformance close-out, and drove continuous improvement by tracing recurring defects to root cause.
  • Maintained HSE compliance through inductions, toolbox talks and regular inspections, achieving a zero lost-time-injury record across every project.
  • Acted as an operational point of contact for client representatives and consultants, running progress reviews and resolving escalations through to close-out.
  • Prepared cost, progress and risk reporting for management and client review, comparing planned against actual performance.
