Awais Ahmed

My name is Awais Ahmed. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BCS), along with diplomas in DBA Oracle, Hardware, and Networking.

I began my professional journey in 2000 as a Lab Instructor at IMIT Karachi. In 2002, I joined Indus Institute (now Indus University), where I worked as a Hardware and Network Assistant. Alongside, I also taught programming languages such as C++, Java, and SQL to 9th, 10th, and BCS-level students.

In 2007, I was promoted to Administrator and Database Manager, a role I proudly served until 2014.

In 2015, I joined AOS Limited, a software house, as an SQA (Software Quality Assurance) Engineer. One of my key projects there was the LDA Land Recording and Processing Application, which is still actively used by the Lahore Development Authority.

In 2020, I joined Karma Software Solutions as an Analyst and QA Manager. Due to my performance and loyalty, I was entrusted with additional responsibilities, including Office Administration and Network Management. Unfortunately, due to organizational downsizing, I was released from Karma in 2024.

2020 – 2024

• Led cross-functional teams in software quality assurance, analysis, and development coordination.
• Managed office operations, network infrastructure, and internal systems.
• Oversaw QA processes, documentation, and release cycles for multiple software products.
• Trained internees in development and QA methodologies.
• Recognized for loyalty and performance by senior management with expanded responsibilities.
• Role concluded due to company downsizing.

AOS Limited — Lahore

2015 – 2021

• Served as lead QA for the LDA Land Record Management System, still in use by the Lahore Development Authority.
• Identified bugs, clarified requirements, and coordinated closely with developers.
• Prepared detailed QA documentation, including test cases and error reports.
• Ensured end-to-end functionality through continuous testing and analysis.

Indus University / EraSoft — Karachi

2002 – 2015

• Started as Hardware & Network Assistant and Instructor in C++, Java, and SQL for 9th, 10th, and BCS students.
• Promoted to Database Manager & System Administrator.
• Managed UMS (University Management System) databases and internal networks.
• Actively contributed to testing, database configuration, and technical training.
• Member of university's senior management committee.

2004 – 2009

• Conducted manual software testing and reported bugs for internal tools.
• Participated in user acceptance testing in coordination with senior managers.
• Summarized test results and supported product enhancements.

• Taught DIT and DIT+ students; managed lab operations.
• Maintained Windows 2000 Server environment with 200+ workstations.
• Handled DHCP, IIS, and TCP/IP configurations.
• Worked as Lab Coordinator under the Operation Badar-IV program.
