As a GIS Specialist at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department, I work on projects i-e, the Billion Tree Afforestation Support Project (BTASP) and the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme (10 BTTP), both of which aim to restore and conserve forests and wildlife in Pakistan. I use GIS and remotely sensed technologies to demarcate, identify, monitor, and evaluate plantation areas, nursery sites, and forest carbon assessment activities, and to develop and maintain a unified MIS for all forest divisions. I also liaise with other organizations in the field of forestry such as the FP&M Circle and the Pakistan Forest Institute.
I have a Master of Science degree in Remote Sensing and GIS from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), where I gained skills in using various geospatial software, databases, and tools, such as QGIS and LiDAR. I have also published couple of research papers in reputable journals on groundwater quality and land use land cover changes and their impact on urban heat and climate. I am passionate about making an impact in geosciences regarding communities and applying my knowledge and skills to address environmental challenges.
