Bookkeeping and Payroll Officer at BBG Professionals (2022-10 – Present)

UK-based ACCA Firm operating as David Howard in the UK

• Process payroll for both static and non-static clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK regulations.
• Liaise with HMRC to resolve PAYE queries and manage tax credit-related matters.
• Maintain accurate financial records by posting purchase and sales invoices using Dext and Hubdoc.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and post payroll journals in Xero and QuickBook and Freeagent.
• Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports such as Balance sheet, P&L, VAT.
• Review and manage Aged Receivables and Aged Payables to support effective cash flow management.
• Conduct balance sheet reviews, including reconciliation of bank accounts and key control accounts (e.g., wages, sales, CIS, VAT, and corporation tax).
• Analyze Profit & Loss statements and ensure accurate VAT calculations and submissions to HMRC.
• Manage Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes, including posting contractor sales invoices and subcontractor purchase invoices.
• File CIS suffered and report CIS liabilities to HMRC by 19th of every month.
