I am Dr. Engr. Rifat Ara and I have 17 years plus 7 months of teaching experience so far in a Public Engineering University.
I am a PhD holder in Electrical Engineering and have 17 years plus 7 months experience of outstanding teaching plus administrative service. In this role, I teach both engineering graduates (B.E and M.E (M.Sc.) and supervise Ph.D. graduates with simultaneous administrative plus research activities. As a permanent senior faculty member of engineering, I teach 40-50 students every semester.
Aside from teaching and supervising senior engineering students on research projects, my other administrative and academic activities include researching engineering projects, organizing/invigilating examinations, leading discussion sections, grading assignments, and maintaining student records.
Additionally, performing in-depth research studies, conducting interviews, publishing articles in reputable academic journals, creating/updating courses, attending staff meetings/academic events, developing teaching materials, and participating in continuous professional development activities. I also prepare the students to foster their leadership plus problem solving skills by giving them research projects, and invigorating classes through new technologies and models.
