Hey! I’m Sobia, a Visual Designer, and Entrepreneur dedicated to transforming ideas into impactful digital experiences through strategic design and leadership.
I specialize in crafting user-centered solutions that look stunning, align with business objectives, and solve real-world challenges. With a solid foundation in design thinking, product strategy, and project execution, I merge creativity with structured leadership to deliver meaningful, scalable results.
With hands-on experience leading multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and managing end-to-end design projects, I ensure every solution is functional and innovative. My design toolkit includes Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator, along with a strong grasp of responsive and accessible design practices.
Currently, I’m pursuing my MS in Computer Science and working on a research project focused on emotion detection in Urdu text using deep learning and traditional machine learning techniques. My research interests lie at the intersection of:
If you're a professor or researcher working in any of these areas, I’d love to connect and explore potential research collaborations. I'm especially passionate about leveraging technology to uplift underserved communities, including regions like Gilgit-Baltistan.
Whether it's launching a product, designing an intuitive UI, or building a purpose-driven team, I’m committed to delivering value through design, innovation, and strategic thinking.
Professionally, I have combined my technical background with leadership and education. As Co-Founder and CTO of COLOGIXS Pvt. Ltd., I led projects in UI/UX design, digital product development, and HR operations. Alongside that, I have served as a STEM and IT Trainer, training more than 150 government teachers in digital literacy through projects with IdeoMetrix and the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
These experiences have helped me grow as a mentor, leader, and communicator. I have also worked on community-driven initiatives like Mom’s Kitchen, which provided local women entrepreneurs with digital access to markets. Each of these roles strengthened my belief that technology should be designed with empathy, inclusion, and usability in mind, principles that align closely with Human-Computer Interaction research.

Thesis: Smart Walking Stick for Visually Impaired People
My final year project, “Smart Walking Stick,” was developed as an IoT-based assistive tool for visually impaired users. The system used Arduino UNO, ultrasonic sensors, and a buzzer to detect obstacles and alert users through audio signals. It was programmed in C/C++ using Arduino IDE and could detect obstacles within a range of 2–3 meters.
The prototype was inexpensive, lightweight, and easy to use. This concept can be improved in the future by including artificial intelligence for intelligent navigation and item detection based on images.
