I am a teams player.
This is Umer khayam, I have been working in this industry for the last 12 years. All these years, I have made progress inch by inch. In the beginning I engaged my self only to develop my skills in the field and only working on small scale projects such as planning and designing residential units. But with the passage of time I develop a good sense of understanding in large scale multi story commercial projects. From the initial design to complete construction drawings, I was good at managing them. You also need to have good communication skills also to survive in this Industry. With all these years of experience under my belt, I think better communication is the key to become a good architect. In a single day you will having a dialogue with a contractor, a doctor, a business man, a house wife and many more. This makes this field interesting but also very demanding.
My first actually project was a public sector project in which I worked that my other senior architects. We worked together, shared ideas, delivered projects on time. Great experience. You learn every day, this learning should never stop. During these times I also did my masters in architecture. Going back to student life was a very refreshing experience.
Now I am the senior architect in my firm. Giving my best shot at it. conquering my demons one by one. Our industry just like the others is also facing influx of technological developments. Every month a news material is in the market. Yes working in Peshawar is A lot different from working in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. But I feel very honored to serve this region as I do belong to this region.
My company won many projects in which I served as a senior architect. A lot to achieve more.
I did my bachelors degree in Architecture from national college of arts Lahore in year 2010. presently I have also completed my Masters in Architecture from Cecos University Peshawar and waiting for my degree.
