Lead Full Stack Software Engineer (Java & JavaScript)

About The Role

As a Lead Full-stack Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain information systems for our Client, an organisation operating in the agricultural sector. You will work across the full stack — Java back-end services built on Spring and Hibernate, JavaScript front-end interfaces, and the SQL data layer beneath them — and take technical ownership of the solutions you deliver, from architecture decisions through to deployment and long-term maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features, covering Java back-end services and JavaScript front-end interfaces
• Take technical ownership of the solutions you deliver, including their performance, maintainability, and data integrity across the application and database layers
• Work with business analysts, other engineers, and stakeholders in the agricultural domain to turn requirements into working software, and support colleagues through code review and knowledge sharing
• Implement business logic and data access using Spring and Hibernate, and design and optimise SQL queries and database structures
• Analyse, maintain, and evolve existing information systems, understanding current behaviour before changing it and preserving compatibility where required
• Contribute to architecture decisions, including deployment on cloud platforms and in containerised environments
• Ensure code quality through testing, code review, and adherence to the team's established conventions
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for the components you deliver

Requirements

• A university degree at master's level (or 5 years of higher education) with a minimum of 15 years of IT professional experience; or a degree at bachelor's level (or 3 years of higher education) with a minimum of 17 years; or a secondary degree giving access to higher education with a minimum of 22 years
• Mandatory certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• At least 7 years of experience with Java
• At least 4 years of experience with Spring and at least 4 years with Hibernate
• At least 16 years of experience with JavaScript
• At least 16 years of experience with SQL
• At least 6 months of experience in the analysis, development, and maintenance of information systems in the agricultural sector
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Python, or Postgres is considered an asset
• Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, corresponding to Level B2 or higher (CEFR)
