Senior Python Developer – Microservices & Cloud-Native Applications

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems leveraging modern cloud-native and microservices-based architectures. This role focuses on developing robust RESTful APIs, building containerized applications, and deploying solutions on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Python development, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures, along with hands-on experience in containerization and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Python
• Build and maintain enterprise-grade microservices architectures
• Develop and manage event-driven applications using Kafka or Pub/Sub systems
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, SSO)
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms
• Design and integrate with relational and NoSQL databases
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and distributed environments

Required Skills & Experience

Core Development

Strong proficiency in Python for backend development

Experience building REST APIs and web services

Solid understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns

Cloud-Native & Containerization

Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift

Understanding of cloud-native application design principles

Event-Driven Architecture

Experience with messaging systems such as Apache Kafka and Pub/Sub frameworks

Knowledge of asynchronous processing and event-driven system design

Security & Identity

Experience implementing OAuth 2.0 and Single Sign-On (SSO)

Strong understanding of secure API design and authentication workflows

Database & Persistence

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)

Ability to design efficient data models and optimize queries

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and high-throughput applications
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with service mesh, observability, and API gateways
• Experience in OpenShift-based enterprise environments
• Understanding of performance optimization and concurrency in Python
