We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Group Function Finance Technology crew to:
- design, develop, and improve the digital products and technology services we provide to our clients and employees
- apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment
- ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
- build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
- understand, represent, and advocate for client needs
- share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities.

Your team In our agile operating model, Crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous Pods You’ll be working in the Finance Technology team in our Poland location.
The role of the Finance function in UBS is to help make the right decisions, execute on these decisions and tell the stories of these decisions. Our technology provides the backbone for accurate and timely financial controls and reporting across all legal entities in the UBS Group. We work closely together with our product sponsors, crew product leads and colleagues to respond quickly to the needs of our Finance team, clients, regulators, and shareholders.
Your expertise
Our basic requirements
We welcome applicants who have either already graduated from a recognized university or are in the final year (seventh semester) of their degree course at the start of the Program in August 2026.
For many of our technical roles, we do ask that you have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree or are studying towards a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification. No professional experience is necessary, but a computer science or computer engineering-related educational background is required.
Your expertise
- interested in learning new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind
- knowledge of programming language preferably JAVA, Python, PL/SQL (or any Object-oriented programming language)
- exposure or awareness of the technical areas around Azure Cloud, Databricks, Cloud pipelines (using Akka/Spark streams), Cloud deployment (Kubernetes & Helm), Big Data, Gitlab and Runners will be added advantage
- strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technology and good at building networks and connections and a pragmatic "can do" attitude
- fluent in English and a great communicator both written and verbal
- passionate about what you do (and really excellent at it)
