Scope: Bacteria from Sahara Dust Samples resistance in antibiotics.

Research assistant for Dr. De Leon,

PhD in investigation on the resistance of antibiotics in bacteria found in samples of Sahara Desert dust.

I oversee laboratory techniques of bachelor students participating in the investigation. Prepare culture transfers,

streak cultures, PCR, DNA extraction,

preparing medium for bacterial growth,

measuring the bacterial growth by determining the optical density in bacteria, amongst other techniques.

In charge of maintaining the laboratory in optimal conditions, ensuring the correct materials are disposed using

Biohazard waste bins, following the

BSL laboratory procedures, and ensuring the correct materials are autoclaved for sterilization.
