Back End Developer

Senior Backend Developer (TypeScript) | Lisbon (Hybrid) | Up to €80,000 + Benefits

I'm partnering with a fast-growing technology company building highly scalable, real-time data infrastructure used in a performance critical environment

They're hiring a Backend Developer to join the team working on their risk management platform, alongside a small, ambitious engineering team solving complex challenges around scalability, reliability, and high throughput data ingestion.

What you'll do

• Design, build and scale reliable backend services and REST/WebSocket APIs using TypeScript
• Work on data pipelines that ingest, process and serve large volumes of real-time data
• Optimise PostgreSQL and ClickHouse databases and improve overall system performance
• Improve observability and resilience across the platform
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical design reviews

What you'll need

• 4+ years of commercial backend development experience, with strong TypeScript proficiency
• Experience designing and building APIs (REST and WebSocket)
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL and ClickHouse
• Ability to analyse complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions
• Strong communication skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
