We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist – Fleet Steering Optimization in Lisbon

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in mathematical optimization, operations research and Python to join an international project focused on fleet optimization and data-driven purchasing and steering decisions.

🧩 What are we looking for?

5+ years of experience in Data Science and Operations Research

Strong background in mathematical optimization, including linear, nonlinear and integer programming

Experience with optimization solvers and algorithm design, including dynamic or stochastic programming

Expert-level Python for modelling and production deployment

Experience building optimization and simulation models for business decision-making

Experience with version control, testing and production-grade development practices

Ability to translate complex business problems into analytical and mathematical models

Ability to explain model behaviour and translate analytical results into clear business language

Experience deploying, monitoring and maintaining optimization or ML systems in real-world environments

Experience with cloud ecosystems, especially AWS, is a plus

Experience using AI tooling as part of the development workflow, with appropriate human review

Familiarity with spec-driven development is a plus

🎓 Nice to have

Experience in car rental, airlines, logistics, fleet management or other capacity-planning-intensive sectors

Experience with Decision Intelligence and AI-driven solutions

Experience with dynamic or stochastic optimization

Experience with AWS and production ML/optimization platforms

🌍 Language

Fluent English – THIS IS A MUST
