We are looking for a Technical Services Engineer with a strong DevOps background to support a large-scale technology modernisation programme in the international sports and events sector.
You will help build, operate, automate and continuously improve cloud-based technical services supporting both internal operations and high-volume external users. The environment combines cloud and on-premises components and requires close attention to availability, security, monitoring, integration and operational resilience.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting distributed applications and technical services.
- Design and improve CI/CD pipelines for reliable application delivery.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code.
- Deploy and operate containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support microservices-based and distributed system environments.
- Configure monitoring, logging and alerting to ensure service availability and performance.
- Contribute to platform redundancy, scalability, disaster recovery and operational resilience.
- Support API management, messaging platforms and system integration patterns.
- Integrate applications and services with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Apply security, identity, access management and data-protection requirements across technical environments.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, connectivity and application-service issues.
- Produce and maintain clear technical and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, security specialists and other technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering or technical services.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as Alibaba Cloud, Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Experience working with cloud, on-premises or hybrid infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles, tools and deployment practices.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of microservices and distributed system architectures.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and operational troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of API management, messaging technologies or enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience integrating services with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of security, identity and access management, redundancy and data-protection principles.
- Strong analytical, communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, multidisciplinary and international environment.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Experience with Microsoft .NET and the Azure ecosystem will be considered an advantage. Previous exposure to Alibaba Cloud is also valuable.
