• *The Role**

We're building our first product, and we want the engineer who builds it to care about what it does.

This is an AI-powered SaaS platform that helps SMEs measure, understand, and improve their ESG performance. Think automated CSRD reports, real-time ESG dashboards, document intelligence, and AI-driven recommendations, all built for organisations that don't have a sustainability team of ten.

This is not a feature factory. You'll be one of the first engineers on a product with real regulatory tailwinds, a confirmed pilot cohort, and a clear path to scale. You'll have ownership, you'll make architecture decisions, and your work will directly shape how tens of thousands of European SMEs engage with sustainability data.

This is the first of several products in Ingeniu's roadmap. If this one goes well, and we intend it to, you won't be short of interesting problems to solve.

• *What You'll Work On
• Backend APIs and business logic for ESG data ingestion, processing, and analysis
• Integration with AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Perplexity, Claude) for document parsing, NLP-based data extraction, and automated report generation
• Frontend application (React), dashboards, report views, onboarding flows, client management
• Cloud infrastructure on AWS (compute, storage, databases, security)
• Data pipelines: document upload → parsing → structured ESG data → insights
• Authentication, authorisation, and data security practices (we handle sensitive business data)
• CI/CD setup and basic test coverage

We're not dogmatic. We care about pragmatic, maintainable choices. Our current direction:

• Backend: Python (FastAPI or Django) or Node.js (NestJS or Express)
• Frontend: React + TypeScript
• Database: PostgreSQL
• Cloud: AWS (EC2/Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudFront)
• AI integrations: OpenAI API, Perplexity, Claude (Anthropic)
• Other: Docker, GitHub, basic CI/CD

You don't need to have used all the tools above. We care more about how you think than what you've used.

• *About You
• 3–6 years of experience in web development (full-stack, or strong back-end with solid front-end exposure)
• You've built and shipped real products, not just internal tools
• You're comfortable working with ambiguity: early-stage means specs evolve and you help shape them
• You write code that others can read, maintain, and build on
• You communicate well with technical peers and with non-technical founders
• You have genuine curiosity about AI-powered applications and what they can do
• Experience integrating LLM/AI APIs into production applications
• Familiarity with data-heavy or analytics products
• Interest in sustainability, ESG, or impact, you don't need to be an expert, but it helps to care
