What will be your role
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer (Node.js & React) to join our team in Lisbon and contribute to the modernization of a strategic platform for a leading European bank.
This project is focused on the migration of a large-scale enterprise application to a modern technology stack, replacing legacy components with scalable and maintainable solutions built with Node.js and React. You'll work in a collaborative, agile environment alongside experienced engineers, contributing to business-critical systems used daily across the organization.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing new features using Node.js, React, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices
- Participating in the migration of legacy applications to a modern Full Stack architecture
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable and high-quality software solutions
- Writing clean, reusable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to technical discussions and architectural decisions
- Troubleshooting production issues and continuously improving application performance and reliability
- Taking ownership of technical solutions and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team
What should you bring to the team
- 3 years of professional experience in Full Stack Software Development
- Strong experience with Node.js and React
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend services
- Experience working with relational databases and writing efficient SQL queries
- Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and clean code principles
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Availability to work in a hybrid model (3 days/week in Lisbon)
- Fluent Portuguese.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with automated testing (unit and integration tests)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Previous experience in the financial or banking sector
