We are currently strengthening the team of one of our clients with the following profile:

Java Developer - hybrid in Lisbon

You will join an agile squad building the core features of a large e-commerce platform, including Checkout, MyAccount and ODR Processing. You will own features end to end, from architecture discussions to production deployment, and help raise the engineering standards of the team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java microservices for Checkout, MyAccount and ODR Processing.
• Own the full feature lifecycle: technical design, implementation, testing, code review and deployment.
• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs, fully documented with OpenAPI.
• Integrate and configure IAM flows with Keycloak and Okta (OIDC, RBAC, token customization).
• Implement event-driven solutions with AWS SQS and Solace.
• Ensure code quality through SonarQube, Snyk and solid code review practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the squad.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and to the client’s engineering standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Java backend development (Spring Boot or similar).
• Hands-on experience with microservices and REST APIs. GraphQL is a plus.
• Experience with IAM and authentication flows (OIDC, OAuth2, RBAC), ideally with Keycloak or Okta.
• Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures (AWS SQS, Solace, Kafka or similar).
• Working knowledge of React.
• Familiarity with code quality and security tools (SonarQube, Snyk).
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• AWS experience beyond SQS.
• Background in e-commerce or checkout and payment flows.
• Experience mentoring or acting as a technical reference in a team.
