About Role

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join a dynamic, international Tech Hub based in Lisbon. As a Senior, you will work under broad direction, acting as a technical reference contributing to architecture decisions, code reviews, and ensuring quality through best practices and testing methodologies. We value generalizing-specialists: adaptable developers who are enthusiastic about exploring a variety of technologies and roles beyond a single stack.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical design processes.
• Act as a technical reference and support high-quality engineering practices across the team.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to troubleshooting, bug fixing and code optimisation.
• Develop and maintain back-end services using Java and Spring Boot, including REST APIs and relational databases.
• Develop front-end solutions using React and Next.js.
• Write unit and integration tests and support testing methodologies across the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to CI/CD practices, GitHub workflows/actions and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong back-end development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or equivalent RDBMS.
• Front-end development experience with React and Next.js.
• Solid experience with Git version control.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Strong troubleshooting, bug fixing and code optimisation skills.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD and GitHub workflows/actions.
• Experience with Maven or an equivalent package manager.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation using tools such as Confluence and IcePanel.

Nice to Have

• Hibernate / JPA or equivalent ORM experience.
• Knowledge of application architecture patterns such as Microservices, Hexagonal Architecture and Event-driven Architecture.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
