Hexa Consulting is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our Client’s team in a hybrid work model from Lisbon.

Mandatory Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in Java backend application development.
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot for building robust, scalable and secure backend solutions.
- Experience with microservices architectures and RESTful API development.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices.
- Experience working with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, automated testing, TDD and Clean Code principles.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, unit testing and integration testing.
- Ability to work autonomously in complex software delivery environments.
- Experience supporting other developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing and engineering guidance.
- Strong attention to software quality, security, documentation and long-term maintainability.
- Professional working proficiency in English and French, including written and spoken communication.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model with regular presence in Lisbon.
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services or leasing-related application environments.
- Experience supporting technical teams through coaching, code reviews or pair programming.
- Awareness of secure software development and cybersecurity best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable and secure backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
- Review existing codebases, identify quality and performance issues and propose appropriate optimization actions.
- Apply engineering best practices, including TDD, Clean Code, CI/CD and structured technical documentation.
- Support technical teams through code reviews, pair programming and guidance on software engineering practices.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and architects to translate functional requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions, microservices design and API implementation.
- Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests to support software reliability.
- Ensure solutions remain maintainable, reliable and aligned with secure software development practices.
