We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a team responsible for developing and maintaining innovative digital platforms used within a global financial environment. You will contribute to the evolution of high-performance applications, working across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with international teams and business stakeholders.
Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the office – Lisbon)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
- Ensure applications are delivered with high standards of quality, security, and performance.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with production support teams to ensure smooth releases and ongoing platform maintenance.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Provide L3 support when required, assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Contribute to Agile development practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience with Java 21 .
- Solid knowledge of the Spring Framework.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and asynchronous processing in Java.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Maven, Git, shell scripting, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with software testing and requirements analysis.
- Experience working on complex and evolving codebases.
- Frontend development experience with Angular is valued.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
- Exposure to financial services, capital markets, or investment banking environments is considered an advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Professional proficiency in English.
