We’re partnering with a profitable, fast-growing sports trading and data technology start-up building the core infrastructure behind modern sports and esports markets.
Their platform powers real-time odds, liquidity, execution, and aggregation systems used by professional trading firms, sportsbooks, and data providers.
Think high-performance backend systems, real-time data pipelines, and latency-sensitive distributed architectures.
They’re scaling multiple backend teams in Lisbon and hiring junior, mid-level, and senior engineers across several product areas:
- Market Making & Trading Integrations
- Sportsbook Aggregation Platform
- Odds Feeds & Data APIs
You’ll join a small, senior-leaning engineering group building backend systems that must be fast, resilient, and always-on.
Depending on your experience, you may work on:
- Building and scaling backend services and APIs
- Designing real-time data pipelines and integrations
- Working with high-volume event processing and relational databases
- Improving latency, reliability, and system performance
- Owning features end-to-end in a high-trust environment
This is a hands-on engineering role with real product ownership and direct impact.

You don’t need experience with everything, but strong experience with some of the following is expected and also a hungry desire to learn new technologies:
- Python
- Node.js
- TypeScript
- SQL / PostgreSQL
- API frameworks
- React (for odds feeds team)
- Rust (big plus for aggregation platform)
- Git, Docker, and modern development workflows
Teams focus heavily on distributed systems, performance optimisation, and real-time processing.

- Junior → Senior backend engineers (0–7 years)
- Strong fundamentals in backend engineering and system design
- Comfortable working with databases and APIs
- Curious, pragmatic, and ownership-driven mindset
- Able to work autonomously in a fast-moving environment
Big Plus (not required):
- Experience with trading, market making, betting, or low-latency systems
- Cloud or infrastructure experience
- Sports or finance domain exposure
