Alexandre Gonçalves

My name is Alexandre Gonçalves, I graduate in Biotechnology (BSc) at Universidade de Évora, and in Molecular and Cell Biology (MSc) at Universidade de Aveiro. I am serious and highly motivated and I believe to deserve this opportunity and that I can be a help to the mission of your company.

I performed my Master’s thesis at Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3S) where I obtained a Research Fellowship for Master’s students, in the area of Research and Development in Life Sciences. The fellowship was a competitive grant where I research the role of proteins in the epithelial cell response to bacterial pore-forming toxins damage in the plasma membrane of host cells. Besides, results obtained during my time at i3S were included in a paper.

Currently I am working at i3S as a Researcher & Development Technician.

I am already familiar with a lot of molecular and cell biology techniques, particularly in cell culture, transfection and flow cytometry, but also in PCR, quantitative PCR, western blot, immunoassays and fluorescence microscopy.
