Mónica Shaskin

I am currently in my first year of the Master’s program in Data Science and Advanced Analytics at NOVA IMS, after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics at Universidade do Minho. I am a dynamic and responsible person who enjoys working in a team, with a particular interest in data analysis and statistical modelling. I am committed to continuously learning, deepening my knowledge, and developing skills that will allow me to grow professionally in the field of Data Analytics and Data Science.

Research Intern — i3S (Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde)

February 2025 – June 2025 | Porto, Portugal

During this internship, I applied statistical methods in a health research context. My work focused on segmenting Portuguese municipalities into clusters based on socioeconomic indicators and analysing the resulting profiles to support the interpretation of future studies. This experience allowed me to strengthen my skills in data analysis, statistical reasoning and the use of quantitative methods in real-world research projects.

I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics at Universidade do Minho, where I developed a strong foundation in statistics, data analysis and quantitative methods. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science and Advanced Analytics at NOVA IMS, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with the aim of further developing my skills in data science, analytics and applied quantitative techniques.
