Senior Structural Engineer (Grade A) with 18+ years experience in Project and Construction Management, Progress Reporting, Design Review and Coordination, Proactive Problem Solving, Inter-disciplinary coordination, Review of Models (Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk-ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE, SAP, PROKON), Effective Communication with Client/ Consultant and subcontractors.
· Discipline reviewer for all Structural & Civil Engineering deliverables including specifications, drawings & structural design reports for precast, reinforced concrete and steel structures.
· Inter-disciplinary coordination ensuring that the input of other disciplines is incorporated and ensured clashes are resolved.
· Hands-on experience in quantity surveying by reviewing and validating Contractors Bill of Quantities (BoQ)
· Liaise with Client on regular basis and ensured their requirements are incorporated.
· Liaise with Main Contractor for timely resolution of design and construction drawings as per Project Management Plan.
· Effectively and proactively coordinated with stakeholders.
· Technical review of pre-qualification and material submittals.
· Ensured compliance with Civil and Structural specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national /international standards.
· Planned and scheduled discipline activities and deliverables, including man-hour estimating when required.
· Directed and supervised the Civil Inspectors (Supervision Consultant) to ensure schedule milestones are achieved and the implementation of design.
· Ensured regular meetings with the Contractor to promptly close-out document reviews in all stages of project progress.
· Carried out regular site visit and raise concerns relating to technical, quality and HSE.
· Reviewed the proposed remedial actions such as corrective & preventive actions and defect repair for the issues identified during the site visits.
· Effectively prepared MoM for Contractors’ Weekly Progress Meeting & Weekly Technical Meeting.
· Verification of Structural (RC & PEB) analysis models, detailed design calculation reports, drawings and structural shop drawings.
· Perform structural designs for ancillary structures as necessary.
· Proactive coordination with construction teams to resolve any issues.
· Review and approve non-conformance reports (NCR).
· Design of pumping station (32m below ground) with a storm flow rate of 19.7m3/s, operation building and outfall chamber using Autodesk ROBOT Structural Analysis Software.
· Design of ancillary buildings including Kahramma Substation, electrical room, telecom room, fuel storage shed, watchman building, foul sewer tank.
· Preparation of design reports such as design criteria/ specifications and design calculation.
· Review calculation reports, detailed design drawings and shop drawings.
· Interface and interdisciplinary coordination.
· Effective interaction external stakeholders.
· Review sub-contractor’s work deployed schedule.
2008 – 2009 CADS SOFTWARE INDIA PVT LTD, CHENNAI, INDIA
Crowne Plaza and Stay bridge Apartments, UAE – Model, analysis and design of various structural elements using Nemetschek SCIA Engineer, Preparing and submitting the design documents and reports, Coordinate with in-house detailing team, Raising RFI for clarifications, communicating with the Clients.
2007 – 2008 ALLCAD SERVICES PVT LTD, CHENNAI, INDIA
Dubai Motor City and Dubai Burj Residential, UAE – In charge of Structural department (25 Members and 3 Team Leaders), involved in planning and organising, attending structural review meetings, responsible for timely delivery of the projects, communication with Clients and on-site coordinators, involved in recruitment of Engineer and provide necessary orientation and training in general & structural detailing standards.
