Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain backend services using Java 21, Spring Boot and asynchronous processing patterns
• Design and enhance LLM-based pipeline steps for classification, matching, risk evaluation, synthesis and draft generation
• Implement robust structured output validation, retries and error handling for model API calls
• Optimize semantic search using PostgreSQL and pgvector for high-quality retrieval of legal precedents
• Extend data models and database migrations with backward-compatible schema changes
• Build and improve frontend flows in React and TypeScript (dashboard, document browser, extraction review, defense generation)
• Integrate real-time progress updates via WebSockets
• Maintain secure authentication and authorization with Keycloak, OIDC and JWT
• Add tests for backend and frontend features and uphold CI quality gates
• Improve observability through tracing, structured logging and operational dashboards

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience on production systems
• Strong experience in Java backend development (Spring Boot, REST APIs, data access)
• Solid PostgreSQL skills including schema design and query optimization
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI / Azure OpenAI / Anthropic or similar)
• Experience with semantic search / vector retrieval (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate or similar)
• 3+ years of React + TypeScript development
• Hands-on experience with OAuth / OIDC / JWT authentication flows
• Testing discipline (unit, integration, API and contract testing)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Azure services (OpenAI, Document Intelligence, PostgreSQL, Container Apps)
• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of legal-tech, financial services or compliance-heavy domains
• Familiarity with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, centralized logging, monitoring dashboards)
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation tooling, guardrails and regression frameworks (Promptfoo, DeepEval, Langfuse, Giskard or Guardrails)
