Cloud Engineer
Descrierea postului
We are looking for two Cloud Engineers with strong Azure networking skills to join our team for a leading client in the energy and critical infrastructure sector. The ideal candidates are hands-on engineers who can deliver cloud infrastructure and connectivity work to a high standard, automate it with Infrastructure as Code and work independently with minimal guidance.
The successful candidates will join a small, experienced team working on the client’s cloud modernisation programme. The work focuses on cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-datacentre connectivity using SD-WAN, a Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) rollout and some backup work with Rubrik.
We are hiring two engineers: one with hands-on SD-WAN / SASE experience (ideally Cato Networks) and one with experience in enterprise backup (ideally Rubrik). The role is remote from Romania, working UK hours with an English-speaking UK team.
Responsibilities:
- Build and configure cloud infrastructure and networking in Microsoft Azure (and AWS where needed), including cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-datacentre connectivity.
- Deliver SD-WAN integration work for a proof of concept and the phases that follow it.
- Support the rollout of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
- Build automation and deployment patterns using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub or GitLab).
- For one of the two roles: configure and validate Rubrik backups.
- Make sure solutions follow security best practices and the client’s standards for managing changes.
- Work with architects, subject matter experts and product owners, and give clear progress updates.
- Raise risks, issues and dependencies early, and deliver within the agreed scope.
- Write clear technical documentation and hand work over cleanly.
Requirements:
- Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) or AWS, including cloud networking: VNets / VPCs, routing, VPN / ExpressRoute, NSGs / firewalls and DNS.
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, DNS, HTTP/S and network security principles.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and/or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub or GitLab.
- Scripting or programming skills in at least one language (Python, PowerShell, Go or Java).
- Windows and/or Linux administration experience.
- A good understanding of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) concepts.
- Excellent English, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-driven and reliable, comfortable working remotely with a UK-based team.
- Hands-on SD-WAN / SASE experience. Cato Networks is ideal; Zscaler, Prisma SASE, Fortinet or Meraki are also relevant.
- Experience with Rubrik, or with Veeam / Commvault and a willingness to learn Rubrik.
- Azure or AWS certifications.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Experience in large, complex enterprise organisations, ideally in energy, utilities or other critical infrastructure.
What we offer:
- Fully remote work.
- A flexible benefits budget you can use for a range of expenses.
- Premium private medical insurance.
- Extra days of annual leave.
- Access to certification programmes, with certification costs covered by the company.
- A free Udemy subscription.
- Access to industry conferences.
