Cloud Platform Engineer (Python)

Our client is a privately-owned international energy company with 40,000 employees across 13 countries, offering a unique chance to merge your passion for technology with impactful work on socially relevant topics.

This role is available only in Romania, involves an employment contract (CIM), and is remote.

Responsibilities

• Implement and operate CI/CD processes using enterprise automation frameworks and tooling.
• Automate application deployment and operational workflows through GitOps practices.
• Monitor, administer, and optimise infrastructure and cloud services to ensure performance, scalability, and security.
• Develop and maintain troubleshooting, support, and maintenance procedures for platform operations.
• Investigate technical issues and deliver fixes, updates, and improvements as required.
• Ensure solutions align with organisational standards, governance requirements, and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tooling, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and technical sustainability while reducing technical debt.
• Contribute to the security of systems and services by addressing cybersecurity considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance to peers, including code reviews and quality assurance activities.
• Define integration requirements and connect internal and external platforms through third-party APIs.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience developing software solutions in Python.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, including SOLID design principles, design patterns, modular architecture, and reusable component design.
• Strong hands-on experience with PySpark and Databricks.
• Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable data engineering frameworks and solutions.
• Experience building modular data pipeline frameworks and structuring large Python codebases.
• Practical experience working with Delta Lake.
• Strong understanding of Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Experience supporting cloud services, infrastructure operations, automation, and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of system security practices, operational governance, and platform reliability,
