Full Stack Developer (Java & React)

Position overview

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer ( Java&React) to join in a new project with a leading public transport provider from Belgium, responsible for operating an extensive network of buses and trams. Serving millions of passengers yearly, they are dedicated to driving the future of sustainable, smart mobility.

To support their massive infrastructure, they are currently modernizing their internal and operational communication systems. This project centers on developing a highly reliable, real-time web application to streamline dispatching, call handling, and fleet coordination.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between robust backend services and a highly responsive, real-time frontend interface. The ideal candidate is a true generalist who can seamlessly shift between building resilient APIs in Java and crafting slick, reactive user interfaces in React.

Responsibilities

Backend Development

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop high-performance REST APIs for seamless data exchange.
• Implement WebSockets to enable reliable, low-latency, real-time data updates across the platform.
• Manage and optimize relational databases using PostgreSQL to handle call data, user profiles, and historical logs.

Frontend Development

• Craft responsive, highly interactive user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Implement efficient client-side state management using Redux (or a similar state management library).
• Optimize frontend performance for real-time UI handling, ensuring instant data

synchronization without performance degradation. Collaboration & Implementation

• Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible code.
• Bridge backend data flows with frontend state to provide a seamless end-to-end user experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar position.
• Proven experience writing production-grade code across

both the backend and frontend.

• Experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern state management (e.g., Redux).
• Hands-on experience working with WebSockets for real-time

updates and live data streaming.

• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema design and

query optimization.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with VoIP concepts, protocols, or integrating voice/call data systems within web applications is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of Figma (UI implementation).
