Java Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer to join a global team and contribute to the development of scalable, secure and resilient backend solutions. This role is a great fit for someone with strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot/Quarkus and microservices, combined with practical exposure to cloud technologies and Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities:

• Implement highly scalable, secure, and resilient backend solutions using Java 17+ and Spring Boot;
• Develop, test, and document Java/Kotlin-based software components in accordance with requirements, actively contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle;
• Maintain high standards of software quality by adhering to good practices and habits, including thorough code reviews and contributing to technical standards;
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system stability and performance;
• Write comprehensive unit tests for robustness, edge cases, and general reliability, and participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code;
• Leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to build, deploy, and manage robust scalable software solutions;
• Collaborate with BAs, QAs, and stakeholders to jointly develop effective solutions;
• Provide support to ensure high-quality releases;
• Thrive in a scaled Agile working environment, collaborating with a global and diverse team;

Skills & Experience:

• Deep expertise in Java 17+ and the Spring or Quarkus ecosystem, microservices architecture, docker containers, Kubernetes;
• Good understanding of design patterns, awareness/understanding of SOLID principles;
• Knowledge of Data structures/Collections;
• Proven experience designing and building scalable backend solutions and RESTful APIs; Java (Spring Framework) or Node.js (Express, Nest.js with TypeScript)
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including advanced SQL, and schema design;
• Experience with OAuth2 authorization framework
• Good understating microservices architecture;
• Good knowledge of Terraform or other equivalent IaC tools (would be a plus)
• Hands-on relevant experience on cloud; Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (would be a plus)
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, pipelines
• Voracious learner. You’re quick to share tips and tools you’ve picked up and you’re open to learning new things from your co-workers.
• At least one year of relevant experience with any Cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP). The experience should be hands-on. Not only just mention. Not only Docker or Kubernetes.
• At least 6 months of using Terraform or any other alternative IaC tool.
• At least 5 years of backend engineering background with the following technologies:

> Language: Java/Kotlin > Framework: Spring Boot/Quarkus
