We are looking for a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our engineering team and play a key role in modernising a real-world bioinformatics platform. Working in a collaborative agile environment, you will partner with a System Architect, QA Automation Engineers, Software Developers, and Bioinformaticians to refactor an existing solution and co-design a new, scalable architecture built on current Java and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse upcoming features early in the cycle and propose clear, pragmatic technical solutions
- Refactor and strengthen the existing backend built on Java 8 and Spring
- Deliver new features while maintaining quality and stability of the live solution
- Help design, implement, and document a modern target architecture to migrate the existing platform
- Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement across the codebase and processes
- Uphold engineering standards and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
- Coach and support junior developers, sharing knowledge and raising the team's overall capability

Education
