Java Software Engineer + SQL

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the optimization and continuous improvement of our casino platform architecture. The primary focus of this role will be our gaming and transaction servers, together with the JavaScript frameworks that power our HTML5 gaming experiences. React-based back-office development will be part of the role but will represent a secondary area of responsibility.

Stack

• Core: Java (Spring Boot, Tomcat; legacy game servers on older JDKs) — high-throughput real-time transactions
• JavaScript HTML5 game frameworks (our own engines), PIXI rendering, bundle/build pipelines
• Data: SQL Server (transaction tables, reporting aggregates, stored procedures)
• Infra / delivery: Linux, Nginx, CDN (Cloudflare regional), multi-server production
• Admin tooling: Spring Boot React back-office (secondary)

What we are looking for

• 5 years backend engineering in production, strong Java
• Systems/architecture mindset — can reason about a multi-service flow end-to-end and design improvements
• Solid SQL and relational DBs (SQL Server a plus); can read and optimize real transaction workloads
• Linux / production ops — deploys, logs, diagnosing live issues
• Working JavaScript — enough to maintain and extend client-side game frameworks and build tooling

Nice to Have

• Experience with payments or fintech platforms
• Legacy-system modernization
• CDN and web-delivery optimization
• PIXI, Canvas, or WebGL experience
