This is a one-year engagement for a Junior Java Developer interested in test automation and quality engineering. You will contribute to a strategic project while developing your Java, API, database, debugging, and automation skills.

PLEASE NOTE: Work model - Hybrid – 2 days per week at the office, or fully remote for candidates located more than 100 km away from Bucharest, B2B.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain Java-based automation scripts and supporting components.
• Create automated tests for REST APIs, backend services, and applications.
• Investigate technical issues in application code, test scripts, configurations, environments, and test data.
• Support functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Document defects, technical findings, logs, and reproduction steps.
• Work with databases and use SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain code using Git and contribute to CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Test Engineers, and DevOps teams.
• Learn project-specific applications, technologies, and business processes.
• Use AI tools responsibly for coding support, debugging, test creation, documentation, and technical learning.

Tools / Software Knowledge & Competencies

• 1–3 years of experience in software development, testing, or quality assurance.
• Good knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
• Basic SQL knowledge and ability to work with databases.
• Experience with Git or a similar version-control system.
• Basic understanding of testing concepts and the defect lifecycle.
• Analytical and structured troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Jira, Zephyr, or Xray is a plus.
• Exposure to Spring Boot, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP is advantageous.
• Knowledge of JMeter, Gatling, Kafka, JMS, or RabbitMQ is considered a plus.
