Senior Backend / Cloud Engineer (Node & AWS)

About the role

You will join a product-focused engineering team building scalable web experiences used by millions of users worldwide. The role is backend-focused, with a strong emphasis on Node, AWS, event-driven architectures, and owning services end-to-end.

Tech stack

• Languages: Node.js, TypeScript
• Cloud: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, etc.)
• Infrastructure: AWS CDK
• Architecture: Serverless, event-driven systems
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions
• Frontend (nice to know): React, Next.js

What you’ll do

• Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations
• Work with AWS services to implement serverless and cloud-native solutions
• Design and implement event-driven architectures (queues, async workflows)
• Define and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or similar)
• Ensure system reliability through logging, monitoring, and observability
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, QA)
• Take ownership of backend solutions, from design to production

Your skills

• 7+ years of professional experience
• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and HTTP fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with AWS services in production environments
• Experience designing event-driven systems (queues, async processing)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or similar)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of backend solutions
• Experience with DynamoDB and S3
• Exposure to serverless frameworks
• Experience with observability tools (CloudWatch, tracing, logging)
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React / Next.js)
• Interest in working with modern tooling and continuously improving systems
