Senior Java Developer

Our jobs involve developing, maintaining and integrating state of the art, mission critical solutions for core insurance and record keeping systems, in an international context for a leading European Insurance Group.

You will work as part of a multinational group with true, large, enterprise-wide systems, complex architecture, and real-life constraints (speed, performance, non-stop systems availability and enhanced security and data protection).

• Contract duration: Permanent

• Schedule: Full-time (8 hrs/day, Monday to Friday)

Your responsibilities

• Design and architect complex software solutions based on business and technical requirements

• Mentor and coach other developers through code reviews, task reviews, and knowledge sharing

• Translate business needs into scalable, maintainable, and innovative technical solutions

• Ensure the use of software development, architecture, and security best practices within the team

• Create and maintain technical documentation and operations of the covered products

• Analyze and solve complex technical issues, providing guidance on high-level technical decisions.

Required skills

• University degree (Bachelor/Master) in IT or other relevant studies

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a software java developer

• Expert knowledge of OOP and Java concepts

• Knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, including JSON and XML-based integrations

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices

• Experience working with microservice-based architectures

• Ability to critically test your own implementation

• Experience in using JIRA and Confluence

• Self-initiative and passion for proactive problem solving

• Effective team player in a corporate environment

• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Desirable skills (Nice to have)

• Knowledge of the Insurance domain

• German language skills.
