Senior Python Developer

Overview At DevsReady, we’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join a major customer in the agricultural industry and help design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and cloud-based services.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop production-grade backend services using Python
• Build and integrate REST APIs and external system integrations
• Develop data processing flows and cloud-native solutions
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, DevOps, and Engineering teams
• Ensure reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability across backend systems

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build and integrate REST APIs for internal and external consumers
• Work with AWS cloud services and common cloud architecture patterns
• Develop and maintain batch, streaming, or near real-time data processing flows
• Integrate backend services with third-party systems, APIs, and AI inference services
• Design and manage relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Contribute to event-driven architectures using messaging systems and queues
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and environment management
• Implement and improve logging, monitoring, and observability practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across multiple services
• Ensure backend systems are scalable, reliable, performant, and maintainable
• Participate in agile ceremonies, planning, estimation, and technical discussions
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities

Technical Requirements

• Strong professional experience as a Backend Engineer with Python
• Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend services
• Good understanding of REST API design, implementation, and integration
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture patterns
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Understanding of data processing concepts, including batch, streaming, or near real-time flows
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployments, versioning, and environment management
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in distributed environments
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills in English

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of Go
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing
• Experience integrating AI inference services or machine learning APIs
• Experience building high-volume or performance-sensitive backend systems
• Familiarity with containerization, orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience working closely with mobile development teams
• Experience supporting production-critical systems with strong reliability requirements
