Senior React Developer

What you’ll be working on The Senior React Developer will be part of a development team responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and documenting frontend functionality for BC2A Software Suite applications, in line with internal engineering and quality procedures.

The role will include

· Design and implementation of modern web user interfaces using React and TypeScript

· Definition and evolution of frontend architecture, application structure, reusable components, and development standards

· Integration with backend services using REST APIs and real time communication mechanisms

· Collaboration with backend developers, architects, Product Owners, and other engineering teams

· Analysis of project and product requirements and translation of these requirements into maintainable frontend solutions

· Development of complex data driven user interfaces for Command and Control applications

· Implementation of maps, tactical visualisation, dashboards, forms, and other interactive components

· Performance optimisation for applications handling large amounts of frequently changing data

· Maintenance and improvement of existing frontend applications

· Technical documentation of architecture, components, interfaces, and important implementation decisions

· Code reviews and technical guidance for other frontend developers

· Participation in technical discussions regarding product architecture and technology choices

· Validation and testing of successive software versions as part of the complete system

· Collaboration with Product Owners to ensure that implemented functionality meets operational and product requirements

Who we’re looking for

Skills and abilities we are looking for in Senior React Developer candidates include:

· Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar technical field

· Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience

· Strong professional experience with React

· Strong knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript

· Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture and component based application design

· Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS

· Experience with modern React development patterns

· Experience with application state management

· Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs

· Experience working with asynchronous data and real time updates

· Good understanding of HTTP, JSON, WebSockets, and browser networking concepts

· Good understanding of software engineering principles, including SOLID principles, separation of concerns, maintainability, and testability

· Ability to analyse technical requirements and standards and translate them into software solutions

· Ability to understand and work within an existing software architecture

· Strong debugging and problem solving skills

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Capability to analyze technical standards in order to be able to design and implement solutions which are compliant with these standards

Nice to have

· Geospatial applications and interactive maps

· OpenLayers, or similar mapping libraries

· Command and Control or situational awareness systems

· WebSocket, SignalR, or event driven user interfaces

· Large scale data visualisation

· Material UI or similar component libraries

· OpenAPI based client generation

· Docker and containerised development environments

· Authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or Keycloak

· Experience working with .NET backend systems

Responsibilities:

· Implements new frontend functionalities on existing products;

· Participate on designing of new products architecture;

· Participate on implementation of a new generation of BC2A suite based on new cloud technologies;

· Work closely with backend developers to define clear and effective interfaces between frontend and backend components

· Support the implementation of the next generation of the BC2A Software Suite using modern web and cloud technologies

· Unit testing;
