Adil Latif

Adil Latif is a remote sensing and GIS analyst with expertise in geospatial data processing, environmental modeling, and automation of spatial workflows. His work focuses on applying remote sensing and GIS technologies to study hydrology, land use, and climate impacts. He has extensive experience in DEM processing, spatial analysis, and map development, along with proficiency in platforms like Google Earth Engine and datasets such as ERA5 and CHIRPS. Adil emphasizes accuracy and efficiency in spatial projects, developing practical tools that streamline complex analyses. His research interests include using geospatial and AI-based approaches to assess environmental change and support sustainable resource management.

I have over 20 years of professional experience in remote sensing, GIS, and spatial modeling. I have worked extensively on geospatial projects across Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, specializing in hydrological modeling, dam safety assessments, flood hazard mapping, and environmental analysis. My expertise includes developing geodatabases, digital elevation models (DEM), and automated geospatial workflows using platforms such as Google Earth Engine and ArcGIS.

Throughout my career at NESPAK and on various national projects, I have led and contributed to multidisciplinary initiatives, including dam safety evaluations for MEWA in Saudi Arabia, flood inundation mapping for the Federal Flood Commission, and cadastral mapping for the Survey of Pakistan. I have served in leadership roles such as GIS Team Lead, Deputy Project Manager, and RS/GIS Expert, where I demonstrated strong project management, technical innovation, and training capabilities.

1. I hold an M.Phil. in Space Science with a specialization in Remote Sensing and GIS from the University of the Punjab, Lahore (2017), and an M.Sc. in GIS from the same institution (2007). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Hons) from Hajvery University, Lahore (2004), which laid a strong foundation in computing and data analysis. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of the Punjab, focusing on climate change impact assessment using remote sensing, GIS, and AI techniques
