I have always been fascinated by my mathematical studies and, having a flair for the subject, there was never any doubt that I would choose mathematics as a degree. It is a pivotal subject on which so many others depend (such as physics and chemistry). I relish the challenge of problem solving that mathematics provides.
For me, it is an endlessly intriguing subject, as the discipline appears limitless, allowing so much scope for further study and research. Mathematics is a subject that I have thoroughly enjoyed throughout my school years. The challenge of thinking and the process of logic always attract me to Mathematical problems, however difficult and regardless of the form in which they come.
I enjoy reading contemporary Mathematics books. I enjoy Mathematics and feel that the elegance and logic of the subject is the reason for my desire to study it at a more advanced level. I realize that Mathematics is extremely important in daily life and in the systems in which we live and, as such, I believe a Mathematics degree, whilst being enjoyable and challenging, would give me a good platform on which to base a career of my choice.
However, a long-term ambition of mine is to work towards a doctorate in Mathematics, something that I am determined to try to achieve.
I would love to pursue a career in the field of mathematics and I believe my choice of institutions matches my capabilities as well as my aspirations to become a successful mathematician. I first became interested in teaching through working in Mansoura College International Schools for 6 years as a math teacher. In addition, I was chosen to work as a senior teacher.
Working in international fields has served further to fire my enthusiasm and prepared me effectively to take responsibility for my own class.
I graduated from Mansoura university (faculty of Education –Math section); My degree has trained me to cover all National and international Curricula
. I have also studied different courses in many levels such as English, computer, and methodology. These practices have given me a good understanding of the primary curriculum and of what makes effective teaching.
My time in school has developed my philosophy of valuing each learner as an individual, as well as part of a community. I aim to give learners as many learning opportunities and experiences as possible in order to engage, motivate and prepare them for future life. An appropriate, balanced, challenging and creative curriculum is essential in developing learners ’s skills, knowledge and understanding. These all underpin personalized learning.
I have in particular come to understand the value of sharing learning objectives and success criteria with children. Knowing exactly what is expected and how they can achieve allows children to focus more clearly on tasks. This also facilitates effective self and peer assessments, as there are clear criteria and objectives to assess against, encouraging children to take more responsibility for their own learning.
Total years of experience in international schools is 14 years
