Nurse Specialist (NICU & ICU)

• Monitor critically ill pediatric patients: Assess vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters. Respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Manage advanced life support equipment: Operate and maintain ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and other PICU devices.
• Administer medications and treatments: Calculate and deliver pediatric dosages accurately. Manage IV therapies, blood products, and emergency medications.
• Perform procedures: Assist with intubation, central line insertion, arterial blood gases, and other critical care procedures.
• Continuous Patient Monitoring: Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamics. Respond immediately to critical changes and notify physicians.
• Ventilator & Life Support Management: Operate and maintain ventilators, infusion pumps, CRRT, and monitoring equipment. Ensure device safety and sterility.
• Critical Medication Administration: Administer IV vasoactive drugs, sedatives, and emergency medications accurately using infusion pumps. Assess patient response.
• Advanced Nursing Care: Provide wound care, central line care, chest tube management, and infection prevention. Prevent pressure ulcers and VAP.
• Documentation & Team Coordination: Maintain accurate patient records, perform shift handovers, and collaborate with doctors, respiratory therapists, and the ICU team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team: Communicate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to implement and evaluate care plans.
• Family-centered care and education: Support and educate parents on the child's condition, treatment plan, and post-discharge care.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely records of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EMR.
• Infection control and safety: Follow strict aseptic techniques and PICU protocols to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
• Emergency response: Act quickly in code situations, CPR, and acute deterioration per PALS guidelines.
