For years, I've spent a large amount of time wondering why people buy things they don't need, support brands like football clubs, cry over fictional characters, queue for coffee, love cycling races, and talk to chatbots like they're friends.

Later on, I can safely say that the pursuit of these questions has taken me everywhere from film sets and pitch rooms to mega governmental projects, sporting events, and brand campaigns.
