Piping Engineer/Drafter

DUTIES as Draftsman 

• Field and shop verification of process, piping, and vendor drawings.
• Preparing shop fabrication spool drawings and weld maps for all isometrics prior to issue the drawings to construction team for fabrication and erection.
• Preparing Field Change Notifications (FCN) as per site modifications and proceed submitting with client for approval and coordinating with them. 
• Maintain and update electronic drawings and document and ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards.
•  Preparing Spools, isometrics, weld maps and MTO Using Spoolgen Software.
• Checking the Isometric drawings with respect to Piping Layout, P&ID, and compliance of checklist.
• Make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff.
• Updating redlines, as-built drawings for modification as required and performing other duties and projects as assigned.

• Piping Design, Modeling, Layout, Checking, Field verification route & sketch. 
• Preparing 3-D models, plot plans, equipment locations, piping orthographic, piping isometric, shop fabrication spool drawings, demolition drawings and piping & instrument diagrams utilizing PDMS, Micro Station, AutoCAD, and Manual.
• Preparing reference data as per input received from clients and referring to standards like ASME B36.10, ASME B36.19, ASME 16.9, ASME 16.11, and ASME B16.5 and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Review design layouts to find and resolve problems involving compatibility with basic design concepts.
• Create reference data (RDB) of piping, valves, fittings etc., as per input specification for PDMS modeling.
• Preliminary Material Take Off from P&ID and equipment layout.
• Track and monitor engineering and design changes.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs.
• Participate in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
• Create and update database of design records for future reference purposes.
• Provide alternative design concepts to meet customer requirements.
• Preparing Piping, Equipment and Support layouts based on basic plot plan & process P&ID.
• 3D piping modeling, extracting piping layouts and reporting to the lead engineer.

Bachelor of Engineering in ‘Mechanical’ from St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil, affiliated with “ANNA UNIVERSITY, Chennai, India” during the academic year of 2007-2011 and passed out with First class distinction mark (80%).
