Managing the design team to prepare & submit the drawings/calculations for consultant/client’s approval to issue the information to the construction team as per the work plan. Checking the works that are being executed in accordance with the drawings and the technical specifications, supervising materials testing, materials approvals. Accordingly, submit as-built drawings for Consultant/client’s approval.
Checking measurement sheet and interim payment application (IPA) before submitting to Consultant. Subcontract management for different packages (checking their measurement sheet, variation & IPC), Checking the variations before submitting to consultant.
Supervising project documents and project schedules and ensure compliance to all health and safety policies. Checking and submitting weekly and monthly progress report to Consultant, monitoring and ensuring all activities of project are carried out as per contractor’s Work Program, Cash Flow and Contract Conditions & Specifications, and identify any errors or deviation from planned Work Program, accordingly submit revised work plan to meet the Contractual Construction Period of time. Work in closer with Project Manager, Project Director, Team leader/DTL and provide updates on progress and issues daily, weekly & monthly and building a healthy relationship between the parties, conducting coordination meeting with other packages’ Contractors, participating weekly/monthly progress meeting, monthly progress presentation and interim payment meeting.
Organizing public awareness programme and participating grievance meeting to sort out the issues with relevant parties.
2. From Nov. 2018 to Mar. 2020 as Construction Specialist-CeyWater Consultancy -Kandy City WasteWater Management Project, Sri Lanka (Project Value: nearly US$ 200 Million-Japan International Cooperation Agency-JICA Funded Project)
As Construction Inspector to represent Engineer for Package -3 managed following tasks.
I managed a team of design engineers, site engineers, Quantity surveyor and other office staff for design verification, implementation, payment certification etc.
Conducting coordination meeting with other packages’ Contractors, weekly progress meeting, monthly progress presentation. Organizing public awareness programme and participating grievances meeting to sort out the issues with relevant parties.
Participating the meeting with client and consultant to implement future programme, scope/sequence changes with minimal cost and for better management of client’s risks meeting,
Managing site staff, including site engineers, site inspectors, HSE engineer and other staff, Monitor and record the contractor’s execution of the work and ensure the work is compliance with contract, comply with Hill International’s QA/QC procedures, Review and advise Resident engineer on the approval of contractor’s programme, methods statement and temporary structure design, Advising RE in negotiation of cost variation and time extension, certify measurement and payment, Approve and monitor contractor’s quality assurance and control and approve material submissions etc
Structural designing, detailing and supervision
Dealing different stakeholders (Architect, Designer, Quantity Surveyor, Main Contractor, Package Contractors, legal regulatory bodies) from inception to delivery of project an effective manner in order to succeed the project objectives at required sustainable level within the pre-defined constraints and satisfaction of business objectives of client by optimizing the effects of risks during life cycle of the project.
Handled four different subcontract packages valued US$ 32.5 million. The main role is selection of right package contractors based on pre-qualification and bids from different contractors and issuing subcontract packages. As per contract, arranging site requirements, processing submittals for approval from client representatives, processing change order based on contract & shop dwgs, coordinating to get right scheduling as per master schedule, ensuring quality and safety requirements as per contract and creating an effective communication among package contractors to avoid rework (‘right first-time concept’).
Overall in-charge for the construction site of building of a portal framed warehouse and office building for a local investor at industrial zone in Homagama, SriLanka.
