o Studying the biological activity of new pharmaceutical compounds prepared in the laboratory, and compounds extracted from natural plants.
We have developed a study of the biological activity of the prepared compounds, especially the testing of the prepared compounds as antibacterial and antifungal, as well as as anticancer against breast, liver and lung cancer. This field of research involves the use of molecular design softwares, molecular modeling, to study the relationship between chemical structure and biological activity. This is followed by studying the effect of the compounds on the genetic bases.
And we were able to publish more than 44 international research in the aforementioned fields.
o We obtained funding for 10 research projects in the field of structural biology, and tumor biology, among the distinguished projects at the level of the University of Jeddah for two consecutive years:
1- Computational studies and sever apoptotic bioactivity of new heterocyclic cyanoacrylamide based p-fluorophenyl and p-phenolic compounds against liver carcinoma (Hepg2). This project was funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR) at the University of Jeddah, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia under Grant No. (UJ-20-DR-85). 2- A Novel Cyano Chalcone As Anti-Cancer Candidate, Induced G1/S Cell Cycle Arrest and Sequentially activated caspases-7,8, and 9 In Breast Carcinoma. This project was funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR) at the University of Jeddah, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia under Grant No. (UJ-21-DR-104).
3- A Novel Acylonitrile Chalcone Induced G1/S Cell Cycle Arrest in Colon Carcinoma HCT 116 Through intrinsic and extrinsic apoptotic pathways mediated p53 Induction. This project was funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR) at the University of Jeddah, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia under Grant No. (UJ-21-DR-150).
4- Magda F mohamed., Alaa A. Kashmiry, Ismail A. Abdelhamid, Amr Mohamed Abdelmoniem. microwave-assisted, silica sulfuric acid catalyzed one-pot synthesis of novel 9,10-diphenylhexahydro-acridine-1,8-dione incorporating sulfamethoxazole has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry and is now in production. 4- I have succeeded in obtaining a research project from the Academy of Scientific Research in Cairo [The Graduated Research Challenge Fund (GRCF) ], to finance my master's thesis, and we were able to publish an international research extracted from the thesis.
Project title: Cloning and expression of the recombinant NP24I protein from tomato fruit and study of its antimicrobial activity.
o Supervision of scientific theses:
The applicant supervised 13 master's and doctoral theses, including 6 doctoral theses (all of them were awarded) and 7 master's theses (ALL theses were DIRECTLY awarded )
