Java Software Engineer

I came across your profile and was impressed by your strong production background in back-end Java engineering, particularly with low-level concurrency, memory optimization, and distributed systems at scale.

We are shortlisting an experienced Backend Java Engineer to join an autonomous engineering team in Malmö building privacy-critical services used by millions globally.

Assignment Details & Setup:

• Location: Malmö, Sweden (100% On-site, 5 days/week).
• Schedule Note: Flexibility required for international collaboration meetings ~2 evenings/week.
• Start / Duration: November 16, 2026 – April 30, 2027 (Long-term, renewable assignment).
• Workload: 100% (Full-time).

Core Technical Focus & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate high-throughput Java services with Netty, virtual threads/reactive models, and java.util.concurrent.
• Debug complex concurrency, memory allocation, and performance bottlenecks under load.
• Work with distributed data stores and caching (Cassandra, Redis, Memcached).
• Own end-to-end service delivery from architecture/design through production operations.

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of production experience in back-end Java engineering.
• Deep understanding of JVM memory models, GC, virtual threads, and distributed system consistency/failure modes.
• Strong experience with REST, Netty, authentication/authorization, and security at scale.
• Fluent English (written & spoken).
