Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Junior Java Developer with foundational knowledge of PTC Windchill to join our development team. The role focuses on Java-based application development and provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced PLM professionals to support and enhance Windchill-based solutions. Windchill knowledge is considered a strong plus but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications under guidance from senior developers
- Support Windchill customizations using Java, JSP, XML, and standard Windchill APIs
- Assist in configuring Windchill modules such as PDMLink, PartsLink, or ProjectLink
- Participate in developing and supporting basic form processors, validators, workflow customizations, and UI components
- Support Windchill workflows, lifecycles, and change management processes (ECR, ECN, ECT)
- Assist with system integrations with external applications (ERP, MES) using REST or SOAP services
- Support data loading, migration, and extraction activities using Windchill tools and scripts
- Debug issues, perform unit testing, and support production deployments
- Collaborate with business users, QA teams, and senior engineers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Required Skills and Experience
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in Java development
- Strong understanding of Core Java, OOP concepts, and basic design patterns
- Experience with JSP, Servlets, XML, and web application development
- Basic understanding of Windchill architecture and PLM concepts (training or project exposure is acceptable)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN)
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
- Hands-on exposure to PTC Windchill customization or configuration
- Basic knowledge of Windchill change management and workflows
- Experience or awareness of system integrations and data migration activities
- Understanding of PLM processes in manufacturing or engineering environments
- Exposure to Windchill deployments, upgrades, or production support
