PYTHON DEVELOPERS WANTED | GOTHENBURG | LONG-TERM FREELANCE

We're partnering with a leading global engineering, technology and consulting organisation that helps major businesses accelerate digital transformation, improve engineering capabilities and develop innovative technology solutions across a range of industries.

They are currently expanding their Python development team and are looking for experienced Python Developers to join a long-term project based in Gothenburg.

This is a great opportunity for a Python Developer who enjoys working in a collaborative technical environment and is looking for a stable freelance engagement through to 2027.

The Role

• Position: Python Developer
• Location: Gothenburg, Sweden
• Working Model: 5 days per week on-site
• Contract: Freelance
• Start Date: 1 October 2026
• Contract Duration: Until June 2027 extension
• Experience: 3–5 years' commercial Python experience
• Language: English speaking
• Interview: 1-stage, approximately 1.5 hours, on-site

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python.
• Work as part of an established Python development team.
• Contribute to the design, development and improvement of software applications.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested Python code.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers and other technical stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across development practices and software quality.
• Take ownership of assigned development tasks and deliver them to a high standard.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years' commercial experience with Python.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Good understanding of software development principles and best practices.
• Experience working within a professional software engineering environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider development team.
• Good English communication skills.
• Willingness to work 5 days per week on-site in Gothenburg.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM prompting or Generative AI technologies.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or AI-powered applications.
• Experience working with APIs and integrations.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience working within large-scale engineering or technology environments.
