Senior Java Developer

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer specialising in Keycloak and Identity & Access Management for a long-term engagement in Gothenburg.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on designing, building and operating secure identity capabilities across a modern Java microservices environment.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and operate IAM capabilities using Keycloak and Java
• Build and maintain production-grade Java microservices
• Extend and customise Keycloak using SPIs, providers, user federation and authentication flows
• Implement authentication and authorisation using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and SAML
• Develop secure, scalable distributed systems
• Work across Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift and CI/CD environments
• Support production deployments, observability, troubleshooting and incident response
• Collaborate closely with security, platform and product teams
• Apply security best practices around tokens, sessions, authentication and authorisation

Required experience

• Extensive professional Java development experience
• Strong, demonstrable hands-on Keycloak experience
• Experience customising Keycloak through SPIs/providers
• Strong knowledge of IAM and SSO
• Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and SAML
• Production experience with microservices and distributed systems
• Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift
• CI/CD
• Strong database experience, ideally PostgreSQL and/or Oracle

Experience with Kafka, MQ, Azure/AWS, Infinispan, CIAM, WebAuthn/FIDO2, Zero Trust or observability tooling would be advantageous.
