This is a backend-first role with a deliberate path into full-stack ownership. You will spend your first months in the Python/FastAPI codebase, then progressively take on the React/Next.js side of the features you build, with support and review.
Please note- 2-4 years of production Python backend development. We prefer candidates with native python backend production experience beyond academic, ML or personal-project work,
Backend (from day one):
- Design and ship tenant-scoped data models, APIs and background jobs in Python/FastAPI.
- Build and extend adapter-based integrations for messaging channels, Google APIs, CRM and payment providers.
- Implement and evolve workflow-engine capabilities and the real-time messaging backend (WebSocket, queues, Celery).
- Own correctness in a multi-tenant system: isolation, migrations, idempotency, retries.
- Debug production issues independently across Postgres, Redis and Celery.
- Write clear code and contribute to a well-documented codebase using RFCs and ADRs.
Frontend (ramping over the first 4-6 months):
- Start by wiring your own APIs into existing React/Next.js screens.
- Progress to building complete features end-to-end, including real-time interfaces with optimistic updates and cache invalidation.
- We expect you to be a genuine full-stack engineer within a year; we will give you the time, review and pairing to get there.
Who this role is not for:
If your production backend experience is primarily Node.js/Express/NestJS and your Python comes from coursework, bootcamps, ML/data notebooks or personal projects, this is not a fit and we will not be able to shortlist you. We are hiring for Python depth specifically.
Employment: Full-time through an Employer of Record in India, with a formal Indian employment contract, statutory benefits and compliant local payroll.

Desired profile:
2-4 years of professional experience writing Python in production - backend web services and APIs, not data science notebooks, ML pipelines or automation scripting.
- Hands-on with FastAPI (or Django REST / Flask at production depth) and comfortable with async Python.
- Practical command of SQLAlchemy sessions, Alembic migrations and Celery workers - these are the parts of our stack that take longest to ramp on.
- Solid PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, query debugging. Redis for caching and queues.
- Understands multi-tenant SaaS concerns, including tenant isolation, row-level data separation and feature flags.
- Genuinely wants to become full-stack.
- Self-directed and able to diagnose production issues independently in a small team with no layer of process above you.
- Nice to have: WhatsApp Cloud API or Meta platform experience, adapter/plugin or workflow-engine architecture, AI/LLM integration, and any existing React/TypeScript exposure.
